Open Access Policy

Fully Open Access

Our Commitment to Open Science

Nutrient Cycling and Climate Change is a platinum open‑access journal: all articles are freely available to readers immediately upon publication, with no subscription or paywall barriers. We believe that unfettered access to research accelerates discovery and benefits humanity.

What does open access mean?

Anyone with an internet connection can read, download, copy, distribute, and cite our articles, subject to proper attribution. Authors retain copyright and we use Creative Commons licenses (CC BY 4.0) to ensure broad reuse.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

To sustain open access and cover editorial, production, and hosting costs, the journal charges an APC only after acceptance.

Copyright & Licensing

Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0)

All articles are published under the CC BY 4.0 license, which allows others to share, adapt, and build upon the work, even commercially, as long as proper credit is given to the original authors and the journal.

Authors retain full copyright and grant the journal right of first publication.

Data Authenticity Verification

Our verification pledge

As part of our commitment to reproducibility, the journal may request raw data, analytical protocols, and metadata during review. Datasets should be deposited in recognized public repositories (e.g., Zenodo, Figshare) whenever possible. This policy strengthens confidence in published results and fosters open science.

Peer Review under Open Access

Double‑anonymized review

Authors and reviewers identities are hidden. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent experts.

Transparent timeline
